Sibling Rivalry
Context
Two siblings forever entwined in the never-ending battle of besting one another…before the school bell rings.
Sibling Rivalry is a show that focuses on comical conflicts between twin siblings. Jackson and Jillian are 10-year-old twins. Each episode, the siblings take everyday activities or everyday competitions and transform them into a humorous obsession to best the other person. The show has very little continuity which prompts for more outrageous material and funnier situations.
Two examples of this are; in one episode, they both open up lemonade stands. The whole episode will be about who can sell more than the other. Everyday Jackson will buy things to enhance his sales like selling lemonade in a glass, things like that. Jillian’s profits will show in an obviously exaggerated and hilarious way like having stock brokers walking with her while she’s on her cell phone, flying in on a jet, or changing her lemonade stand into a huge corporate building.
Another example of the absence of continuity is the episode where the twins enter into a boat race in which they are both Captains of their own ships. The two turn a simple boat race into an all out battle on the open seas, resulting in neither team winning. Throughout the episode Jillian takes on a Capt. Bligh persona, treating Stacy like her Mr. Christian. Her brother on the other hand becomes more like Captain Jack Sparrow. Dreadlocks and all!
Sibling Rivalry will also have a supporting cast. The parents, though not seen much, display the same amusing competitive streak. They are race car drivers who encourage their children to be the way they are. Kenny is Jackson’s best friend. Kenny is very smart and is always trying to talk Jackson out of his plans to beat his sister. Stacy is Jillian’s best friend who is also always trying to avoid being pulled into Jillian’s predicaments. We also have minor characters to help enhance and add material to the story.
The amazing cast and extraordinary situations propel this show to be a hilarious and adventurous piece of work. Each episode is different and attention demanding. This show consists of both silly jokes and situational comedy. Also in some episodes we use movie parodies to boost the humor. The formula for Sibling Rivalry prompts for endless possibilities and nonstop fun.
