Project: Kingdom

Context

During a time when the world was at war and conventional means of warfare were no longer effective, the government created a top secret organization called SILVERBACK………..

The purpose of this organization was to research and develop unconventional methods of biological warfare. Silverback conducted many successful experiments, but none were as innovative as PROJECT: KINGDOM.  The founder of Silverback was the young Army captain, Capt. Victor Khan. The project was so undisclosed that even the Secretary of Defense had no knowledge of it.  Silverback’s Project Kingdom took an undetermined amount of human test subjects and combined their DNA with a Metazoan gene.

The Metazoan gene was created by Silverback by splicing human DNA with the DNA of certain animals.  The subjects used for this experiment were either paid volunteers, prisoners, or did not know they were subjects. Because of the secrecy and potential of the project, Khan decides to use the project as a means to make a profit, and become the single dominate military force in the world. He would use the animorphs for missions that were impossible for a mere human to accomplish. In order to keep this project undercover, the organization released the injected subjects allowing the carry on their everyday lives.

All of the subjects successfully took the Metazoan gene. However, the gene needed time to grow and evolve inside of its host, manipulating and improving the host’s original agility, strength, senses, and healing abilities; In most cases giving the host new abilities. It would take approximately 15 years to fully mature. During the years of maturation, all of the subjects were closely monitored by Silverback until it was time to confront them. Each subject approached was given the choice to join Silverback. If they refuse they are simply eradicated. This is a way to remain discreet and avoid confrontation with the country’s military.

This series focuses on the experimentation on human beings to enable them to turn in to humanoid animals, known as “Animorphs”.  These experimentations are all part of Project Kingdom, a project created by a military organization known as Silverback.   The two protagonists in the series are two young college students, Wayne Duncan and Maye Clarke.  Wayne and Maye are childhood friends with a sibling like relationship.   As the series begins, Wayne and Maye learn that they have the ability to turn into human size animals.  They learn how to use and control these powers due to the teachings of Chase, a former member of the enemy organization “Silverback”.

Throughout the series Silverback attempts to establish themselves as the number one military organization in the world through many and drastic means.  At the beginning of the series they try to recruit Wayne and Maye.  Chase Matthews and Shi Lopez put a stop to this plan by rescuing, and educating the kids as soon as possible. As soon as Col. Kahn, the founder of Silverback, realizes they’ve join Chase he tries to have them eliminated.  Silverback is lead by former military Colonel, Victor Kahn. The Silverback Force, which consists of Animorphs and soldiers, is led by Caleb Voorhees.

Each season will have a separate story line.  The first season, of course, will serve as an intro to the show.  As the show progresses Kahn creates various experiments which prompt for new adventures.  The story also allows the viewer to follow the growth and development of the main characters, Wayne and Maye, along with some minor characters.  The story will also show Chase helping hunted animorphs along with planning the downfall of the organization known as Silverback as he realizes the potential threat that silverback poses to the military world along with the earth itself.  The Kingdom develops in ways involving other threats besides Silverback.  Other threats include an animorph hunter known as Xavier, the government, a powerful and highly intelligent animorph named Isaac, etc.

The Kingdom will appeal to a wide range of audience.  It can appeal to kids but is very intelligent and mature on an adult level.  That is the goal of Shadow and light, on an animation level.  We will not restrict ourselves to just TV-MA or TV-Y cartoons.  The Kingdom can and will catch the attention of any open-minded adult but at the same time, be suitable for children to watch.  It will involve humor, both silly and serious.  This show will focus mainly on action.  It will also allow you to see how the characters deal with personal problems emotionally.  An example is how Wayne and Maye deal with an altercation with their parents.  The conflict is very emotional and devastating to the both of them.  This is an example of one of the characters dealing with an internal conflict.  This show will deal many topics on that level, but it will not be the main focus.  The show is very versatile but of course the main focus is entertaining action.  The Kingdom will incorporate, action (primarily), humor, drama, and other topics.

It is also educational.  Shadow and Light did thorough research on every character’s animal form and incorporated their attributes into their characters.  All details about these animals are true!  The animals’ traits were studied and written into these characters for the purpose of more intense action scenes.  Along with being entertained, the watcher will walk away with more facts and knowledge about animals and may not even realize it.  As you can see Shadow and Light covers all avenues and we believe this is the formula to a highly compelling and watchable show!
